Dr. Flood
Dr. Heather Flood is an Integrative Primary Care Physician, acupuncturist, and Chinese herbalist. She believes in the body’s propensity toward health and strives to encourage and promote its innate healing capacity and quest for homeostasis through individualized medicine. She uses a holistic approach that encompasses the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of wellness allowing her to identify the root cause of illness and tailor treatments and interventions to best suit each individual’s needs. She firmly believes in educating and empowering patients to understand their bodies and participate in their wellness to maximize their healing potential and optimize their health. She has a unique skill set as a result of her training with both the conventional medical model as well as her naturopathic foundation. As a result, she is able to provide evidence based, informed decision making around which therapies are best suited for you based on your philosophy, desired outcome, and medical needs.
When Dr. Flood is not seeing patients in private practice she is working as a lead trainer and facilitator at 40 Years of Zen, an intensive neurofeedback center developed by Bulletproof CEO Dave Asprey. She uses behavioral reconditioning to guide patients through their deep, automated, and subconscious patterning that diminishes the brain’s capacity and function. By using consciousness coaching she assists patients in removing their neurological obstacles that hinder their potential and prevents them from aligning with their truth.
Dr. Flood received her doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and a Masters of Science in Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine from Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington. She studied East Asian Medicine in China at major hospitals in Shanghai and Chengdu. Dr. Flood obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Fordham University in New York, New York. She completed two years of residency at Bastyr Center for Natural Health (BCNH) as well as a year of residency at Healthpoint, a community clinic providing conventional care for underserved populations. She holds advanced training and certification in counseling, gynecology, IV therapy, spinal manipulation, kinesio taping, craniosacral therapy, facial acupuncture, breathing techniques and visual imagery.
